MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES· Build cable, harnessing and mechanical assemblies.· Position and align parts and components. Secure them in place or remove them using appropriate, various methods including soldering, crimping, fastening, gluing, etc. Install assemblies in cases or cabinets.· Bundle and route wiring within the product being worked.· Perform initial tests to check for faulty parts, continuity, etc.· Tend to machines that prepare or assemble parts.· Build printed wiring board assemblies and perform rework and modifications of prototype boards.· Assist engineers in building bread boards.· Assist engineers with sheet metal modifications.· Build setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.· Read and interpret work orders and follow drawings or sample assemblies to facilitate assembly work.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:· High school diploma or equivalent.· Must have 2 or more years’ experience performing electro-mechanical assembly with an emphasis on cable/ harness rework and electronic/ electrical soldering and termination.· Must have skilled knowledge of cable and harness rework and fabrication including pinning and depinning, various termination methods, labeling and dressing, wire routing, splicing, etc.· Must have excellent SMT (surface mount technology) and THT (through-hole technology) skills.· Must have proficient ability to read schematic diagrams and blueprints and interpret for work performance.· Skilled ability to using hand tools, limited power tools, soldering irons including under a microscope, and basic machining equipment.· Ability to follow procedures and adhere to regulations related to work being performed.· Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.· Receives assignments, scheduling and assembly instructions from Lab Supervisor and Lead person.· Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.· Normally follows established procedures on routine work and requires instructions only on new assignments.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS· Ability to lift, push and pull from up to 40 lbs. on a daily basis.· Ability to perform repetitive motion including bending, twisting and various hand and arm movements.· Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
