You will be a Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) Engineer in the R&D Lab at Hussmann’s Bridgeton, MO facility. We are looking for someone with strong critical thinking skills and a desire to develop component level measurement tools and techniques to improve NVH performance on current designs and avoid NVH issues in future designs. This position requires strong knowledge and experience in Noise and Vibration measurement techniques.  You will report to the Bridgeton, R & D Lab Manager. 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Drive testing to support test plans of process partners.

  • Analyze, evaluate and document data.

  • Identify, analyze and solve issues.

  • Create and update test procedures and specifications.

  • Design, develop, review and coordinate test programs for mechanical components, small systems, processes or materials.

  • Aid design engineering in developing FMEA’s and Test Plans.

  • Actively participate in technical design reviews. 

Scope & Dimensions: 

      The sales of refrigerated supermarket equipment are roughly a 2.25-billion-dollar business. The business serves the retail food market and includes customers such as Wal-Mart, Kroger, Safeway, Sobeys, and Whole Foods etc. The engineering department has roughly 150 salaried employees to support this activity. This position contributes to the company success of providing reliable, energy efficient, and top performing equipment to this business segment.

Poisition Requirements​

  • Bachelor of Science in Enginering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).

  • 2+ years' experience in engineering. 
  • Sound and Vibration experience.

  • Vibration measurement and analysis experience (experimental modal analysis, operational, transfer path analysis).

  • Sound measurement and analysis experience (sound power measurements, sound quality measurements).

  • Strong critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and decision making skills.

  • Experience in design validation and lab testing.

  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter.

  • Knowledge of LMS Test Lab or B&K Pulse data acquisition systems is a plus.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and decision making skills.

  • Able to manage multiple projects.

  • Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact with process partners and guide the work of lab technicians.

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
